What brought you to Portage College and your program of study?

I needed to learn skills to grow my business.. I've been running my business for two years at that time and needed to build a strong foundation.

What was your favorite memory while attending Portage College?

One of my favourite memories was playing college soccer as the soccer coach of the time taught me things about the sport. I had never known. He gave me leadership responsibility on the field, believed in me and empowered me to lead the team on the field in a way no one had ever done before. As a result, I played better than ever and made many great memories.

What was the colleges greatest impact on your personal and professional life?

One of my favourite memories was in the first semester of college. I was taking a course called micro economics and learning concepts about supply and demand. I was having difficulty learning how to apply what I was learning and I attended at Chamber of Commerce meeting. In that meeting, there were three business leaders of our community talking and they were using concepts that had just learned about in college. This solidified, that what I was learning in college was useful in every day life and especially when growing a small business. It was awesome and I was excited to continue to learn.

What are you up to now?

I am growing my business that I had started before college and utilizing the skills I had learned every day.

Business is how the world works, and people who love serving others, do really well in business. My business has been growing and expanding every year because I love serving others and now I am enjoying the opportunity in helping other young entrepreneurs start or grow their businesses.
